March 26, 2009 - Virginia Beach website design and marketing firm Ciniva Systems, a strong supporter of local non-profit organizations, has recently partnered with Lynnhaven River Now to develop a new website where they can spread the news about the this important part of the Southeastern Virginia ecosystem. Lynnhaven River Now is a non-profit organization dedicated to informing the public about the state of this vital Chesapeake Bay tributary and garner support for its restoration and upkeep.

Regarded as an important food source and transportation channel by Native Americans and early European Settlers, the Lynnhaven River has seen a decline in water quality and an increase in harmful chemicals and gasses leaking into the water in the recent years. Directly related to this problem is the decline of the native Lynnhaven Oyster, a vital part of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem, and a seafood delicacy. Lynnhaven River Now hopes to use the new website as a direct channel of communication to entice others to support the restoration of this key waterway.

To accomplish their goals, Lynnhaven River Now needed a website that was attractive, functional, and included the ability to accept donations and membership to the organization. Ciniva Systems, known for award winning Virginia web design that never uses templates, came up with a practical layout coupled with an appealing design that is user-friendly and compliments Lynnhaven River Now’s branding messages. Using one of Ciniva System’s proprietary content management systems (CMS), the website can be easily modified without much technical or web programming knowledge.

“By implementing custom online donation software into the CMS, we have created the ideal website for this nonprofit organization,” remarks Steve Padgett, lead database programmer at Ciniva Systems. “People can make donations to the charity easily and quickly online,” making fund-raising easier and giving the members of Lynnhaven River Now more time to accomplish important tasks, such as regrowing the vital Lynnhaven Oyster beds.

The new website, www.LynnhavenRiverNow.org, is now live and recruiting new members to help support this fantastic cause. With the recent clamor for companies to engage in environmentally friendly activities, this site is a step in the right direction.
