Known as the Atlantic Coast's best kept secret, Currituck County has in the last year become a popular destination for tourists seeking a relaxing Outer Banks vacation without fighting the major influx of people to the region. With its pristine beaches, great opportunities for fishing and hunting, and many tournament-quality golf courses, Currituck County offers something for everyone in terms of a fun-filled stay. Now, Currituck aims to present itself as the ideal place in North Carolina to do business.
With the launch of ThinkCurrituck.com, created by the Currituck County government in conjunction with CINIVA Systems - award-winning website design for Hampton Roads and the Mid-Atlantic - the region has made the goal of attracting business owners of all industries and interests to set up shop along the shore.
Boasting proximity to the metropolitan Norfolk-Virginia Beach area, low tax rates, and pleasant year-round climates, Currituck County has grown exponentially in the last five years, and recent developments on the Chesapeake Expressay and local airport have allowed for easier access to the county. Operations have increased 400% over the last decade at the Currituck Regional Airport. With the expansion of the airport runway to 5,500 feet, the Currituck County Airport is the only North Carolina Outer Banks airport serving business jet aircraft. Future plans for the airport include additional hangars, runway expansions and an adjoining aviation industrial park.
Companies and business owners interested in relocating to North Carolina, specifically to the Outer Banks, are invited to contact Currituck County to submit a development bid. More information on the area is also available via the county's tourism site, VisitCurrituck.com, or by phone at 252. 232. 2075 ext. 6015.
