For Immediate Release
January 22, 2010 – The fun pastime of sending postcards from vacation spots may not be as popular as it once was, but one destination has taken this nostalgia to the next step and allows visitors to send virtual postcards.
This is one of the many new features of the new Roanoke Island Festival Park Web site. The full post card functionality allows users to select which image they would like to send to a friend, then they can enter names, e-mail addresses and a message and preview the card before it is sent. Also part of the complete redesign by CINIVA Systems has given Roanoke Island a custom content management system, and a more clean, user friendly design.

The new Web site allows visitors to completely plan their visit to Roanoke Island by providing ticket information, discounts, directions and things to do. From the home page, site visitors can view interactive calendars of upcoming performing arts events, as well as make a purchase from the museum store. Everything a family needs to plan their trip is conveniently provided on the homepage.
“Vacation destinations should make it easier for vacation planners to plan a visit,” said Steve Van Leeuwen, president of Ciniva Systems. “We are proud to say we’ve accomplished this for Roanoke Island by working with them to launch this newly redesigned site.”
